My understanding is that the FSSP is under diocesan jurisdiction, so when the Bishops closed down the churches, they must have had to comply, right? Not so with the SSPX, as they are not under diocesan jurisdiction. God has truly used this time to separate the wheat from the chaff in our parish, and now it's flourishing. So much less gossip, backbiting, and endless drama, and our priests have been such an amazing blessing. It's fantastic, and the "vibe" in the parish is so much better than before the 2015 exodus.

We're back to our normal 2 Sunday masses, and new people are still coming. People were starving for the Sacraments, and even more, starving for reverence and Tradition, and it took the closing of their NO parishes to push them to look elsewhere. During that time, we had a huge influx of families and new parishioners.

When covid hit and the diocesan parishes closed their doors and stopped administering the Sacraments, our parish went from 2 Sunday masses to 6 to deal with the limited capacity mandated by the state. It really struck a blow to our parish and school. We had a falling out in our parish (Ridgefield, CT) about 5-6 years ago when a priest left the Society and took about a third to a half of the parish and school with him. I can only speak to what has happened in our parish over the past year-and-a-half, which is that it has grown significantly.
